DESCRIPTION

FOR SALE is an overhead console and computer from a 1993 Dodge Shadow ES V6 two-door. The console is gray-cloth covered with black matte plastic. It includes the display for the compass heading and outside temperature with adjustment/function buttons. Map lights, a compartment for the garage door opener remote, and a sunglasses storage compartment are features of this unit. Every component is in excellent shape with no major scratches and no broken or cracked pieces.

The entire assembly was used for only a few weeks (find out why) in 1993 Dodge Shadow after being obtained obtained from 1994 Dodge Shadow in salvage yard. The bracket, temperature sensor, and wiring harness are Mopar stock parts and should fit any P-body. The computer is suitable for all North American markets, including Canada, as it accepts worldwide magnetic declinations and displays temperatures in Farenheit or Celsius degrees.

The wiring harness is designed to fit neatly into the Shadow/Sundance interior. It goes from the console along the roof in the headliner, down the B-pillar, under the passenger seat, and behind the glovebox where the car is FACTORY PRE-WIRED for the overhead console. Additionally, the P-body and other similar cars (Spirit/Acclaim and Dynasty/New Yorker) were pre-wired for the temperature sensor and MAY accept this overhead console.

If the buyer wants the headliner from the 1994 to use as a template for cutting the headliner in his vehicle, please contact me and I will find a way to have it delivered to you. It is in storage in Minnesota right now, but I can retrieve it for you at any time.

This view shows, from left, the sunglasses compartment, the garage door opener remote compartment, the independently-operated map lights that come on with the dome light, and the compass/thermometer display with operation buttons. When installed, the unit gives the interior of the vehicle a sleek, aircraft-style appearance and feel.


Shows sugnlasses compartment open and garage door opener remote compartment open. The sunglesses compartment glides open smoothly on dampened, geared hinges. The garage door opener compartment has an adjustable screw that will accomodate nearly any size and proportion of garage door remote, that being held in place with a heavy-duty velcro attachment.


The console is positioned by sliding the front pin into the mounting plate's bracket (next photo). Then, a screw is installed through the open sunglasses storage compartment to secure the console. The console body is labeled with a P, but it may work in other cars (such as the Acclaim/Spirit) as well.


The moutning plate is secured to the frame of the car in four factory-drilled locations. Mounting screws are not included, but readily obtainable. The part is clearly marked for P-body vehicles but MAY work in other similar Chrysler Corporation vehicles, perhaps with some modification.


The display is fully functional, shown here being bench tested. The compass and temperature sensor are both operational. The temperature can be displayed in Farenheit or Celsius degrees.


The wiring harness has factory connectors on both ends that connect to factory connectors in the vehicle (behind the glovebox) and in the console (on the compass/thermometer). Additionally, the wiring harness features ALL protective sheathing, abrasion/noise cancelling foam, and every clip/pin used to secure to original factory mounting points in the body of the car. The factory temperature sensor was used for two weeks and comes in the original box.
